Many people think that Cancun is an expensive destination but there are many options if you’re looking for some budget vacations. There are many hotel deals that you can find during the off season. You can have many activities and restaurants that will not be so expensive

1. Visit the archeological site of Tulum by your own

Take a bus from the ADO that will take you to the archeological site of Tulum. Bus cost: $104 pesos one way at 8:15, 9:15 and 10:15 am (roundtrip $208 pesos). Tulum entrance fee $57 pesos. Schedule – From Monday to Sunday 8am – 5pm.

 2. Visit Playa del Carmen

Take a bus from the ADO and visit the famous 5th Avenue of Playa del Carmen a cosmopolitan village full of Mexican restaurants and Mexican Caribbean shops. Bus cost – $48 pesos (one way) . Schedule – every 30 minutes from 5 am to 11:30 pm.

3. Visit Playa Delfines in Cancun

Also known as “El Mirador”, a “must walk beach” Playa delfines is the public beach most known in Cancun. Not recommended for swimming if you’re not an expert. This beach lack the heavy crowds from the hotel zone. Very accessible by bus, rental car or taxi.

4. Visit Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres

An island located in front of Cancun in the Caribbean Mexican Sea, a perfect destination for a daytrip. The perfect location to spend the day in Isla Mujeres is at Playa Norte which have shallow waters and stunning white sand. For having lunch we recommend you the several restaurants in the main avenue of this island. Ferry cost – $17usd roundtrip every hour from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

5. Swim with turtles in Akumal

Akumal is well known as the home of many different types of turtles which are protected by locals. Enjoy a day in a different bay from all the ones found in Cancun and Riviera Maya, with calm waves perfect for snorkeling and watch a natural spectacle with many turtles and fishes. Take a bus to Playa del Carmen ($48 pesos one way) and then take a “colectivo” to Akumal which are located in Calle 2 norte between Av. 15 and 20 ( $30 pesos one way).
